Every Day is Tuesday – A Granati Family Tradition

     Alison Tuesday (Alison Tuesday Flynn) is a singer, songwriter and recording artist from Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Music has been a major part of her life as long as she can remember. Her father, Joey Granati, is one of four brothers who formed a rock band in the seventies called the Granati Brothers. They were signed to A&M records in 1978 and toured with Van Halen in the early 80’s. Tuesday’s mother, Kathleen Flynn comes from 3 generations of music and has performed on stage in musicals and acted in plays as well as fronted bands for many years.
            Tuesday has led anything but your typical All-American life, and has done a lot of living for someone her age. Her parents parted ways before she was born, with her father touring and her mother leading a very “nomadic” lifestyle. Tuesday and her mother traveled across the country during her childhood and she has continued that trend into adulthood. Tuesday attended 8 different schools while growing up, but despite her transient lifestyle, she graduated high school with high honors and college with the same.
            Tuesday’s trying and sometimes traumatic life experiences can be heard in her soulful singing voice. She can belt out an Aretha Franklin song with the fury of a diva, and then softly harmonize with herself in the studio in a style reminiscent of a 60’s pop singer. She credits her mother for helping her develop a keen sense of harmony, her father and uncles for her ambition.

Tuesday has sang and recorded a variety of styles of music, including R&B, Rock, Soul, Hip Hop, Funk, Jazz, Blues and Country, and has sang and recorded with a multitude of musicians from the Pittsburgh area including: The Granati Brothers, “Chizmo” Charles, James Dougherty, Bobby Eaton, Warren King, The Charlie Murdoch’s piano bar crew and many more.
